Frequently Asked Questions
Do you only sell vinyl?
Yes — we're a vinyl-only store. We stock new and sealed LPs, double LPs, box sets and 12" singles. We don't sell CDs, cassettes or digital downloads.
Are all records new and sealed?
Yes. Every record on our site is new and sealed unless we explicitly state otherwise. We do not sell used or ex-display records.
What is a pre-order?
A pre-order lets you reserve a copy of an upcoming release before it arrives. We place our orders with distributors in advance, so pre-ordering with us guarantees your copy. You won't be charged until your order is dispatched.
When will my pre-order ship?
We aim to ship all pre-orders on or as close to the release date as possible. Occasionally distributor delays mean records arrive a day or two after the official date — we'll always keep you informed if this happens.
What are indie exclusives?
Indie exclusives are special vinyl pressings — usually on coloured vinyl, sometimes with alternate artwork or bonus content — available only through independent record shops like us. They can't be bought from supermarkets or major online retailers. We get allocation from our distributors so stock is limited — pre-ordering is strongly recommended.
Do you ship outside the UK?
Yes — we ship worldwide. Shipping costs will be calculated at checkout based on your location and the weight of your order.
How much is postage?
Postage rates are calculated at checkout based on your location and the weight of your order. We use Royal Mail and courier services depending on the size of your order.
Can I return a record?
If your record arrives damaged or defective, please get in touch within 14 days and we'll sort it out. We accept returns on sealed, unopened records within 14 days of delivery provided they are in the same condition as sent. We're unable to accept returns on opened records unless they are faulty.
My order hasn't arrived — what do I do?
Drop us an email at sales@muckypegrecords.co.uk and we'll look into it straight away. Please allow the full estimated delivery window before getting in touch.
Do you have a physical shop?
We don't have a permanent shop, but if you're local to Hull you can find us at the Hull Record Fair, which we attend every two months. For upcoming dates check the Hull Record Fair Facebook page.
Can I request a specific record?
Absolutely — if there's something you're after that you can't see on the site, drop us a message and we'll do our best to source it.
