Pornography
The Cure
Fiction Records
Pornography is The Cure's fourth studio album, originally released in May 1982 and widely considered one of the defining documents of gothic rock. Recorded at RAK Studios with producer Phil Thornalley, it was made under conditions of near-total chaos — heavy drug use, internal collapse, and Robert Smith's depression giving the record its claustrophobic, suffocating atmosphere.
This 2016 reissue has been remastered by Robert Smith himself and pressed on 180g vinyl, with lyrics and a band photo printed on the inner sleeve. Uncompromising from start to finish — One Hundred Years, The Hanging Garden, Siamese Twins, and the title track remain some of the darkest music ever committed to tape.
