The Cure's sixth studio album, originally released in August 1985, and the record that broke them to a far wider audience. A sharp, confident pivot away from the claustrophobic darkness of Pornography — Robert Smith wrote every track himself, and the results are endlessly varied: the jangly pop of In Between Days, the cinematic sweep of A Night Like This, the hypnotic pulse of Close to Me, and the brooding closer Sinking.

This 2022 reissue is pressed by Takt Direct in Poland from lacquers cut at Abbey Road Studios, and comes with a printed inner lyric sleeve. A significant step up from the earlier GZ Media pressing in terms of dynamics and clarity.
