Dopamine Chamber
Fontaines D.C.
XL Recordings
Fontaines D.C. return with their fifth studio album, Dopamine Chamber, out 16 October via XL Recordings. Produced by James Ford, it follows 2024's platinum-certified Romance and marks a deliberate turn away from the band's guitar-led sound into colder, more synthetic territory — icy synths, marching drums, samples, and several tracks built with no guitar at all.
Recorded between London, the English countryside and Palermo, the album folds the swooning strings of 1960s Italian pop into its electronic backbone. Frontman Grian Chatten has said this record leans further into what he calls "a loss of feeling" compared to its predecessor, trading easy hope for a starker, more unflinching tone. It arrives alongside lead single "Marianne" and its Dave Meyers-directed video.
