La Roux returns with her long-awaited fourth album, Old Flames — her first record since 2020's Supervision and arguably her most honest yet. Composed, written, produced and arranged entirely by Elly Jackson herself, it's a record that stares down the collapse of a 17-year relationship, the ache of forbidden love, and the struggle to reconcile sexuality and identity in the public eye. Sonically it draws on a rich palette of 90s-influenced synth-pop and electronic production — think All Saints, Mariah Carey and Robyn filtered through a thoroughly contemporary lens. Lead single 'Cabin Fever' sets the tone perfectly: sleek, emotionally raw, and utterly impossible to shake.
